Managing Published Surveys
After publishing, you can still manage your survey. This guide covers the dashboard and all management options.
Your Dashboard
The dashboard is your home base for every survey. At the top, four compact tiles give you an instant overview of the current workspace:
| Tile | Shows |
|---|---|
| Surveys | Total surveys in this workspace |
| Responses collected | Responses across all of them |
| Published | How many surveys are live |
| Needs attention | Surveys at 90% or more of their response limit — the tile turns amber when action is needed |
Switch between your personal workspace and your teams with the workspace switcher in the header; the tiles and survey list update to match.
Finding Surveys
The toolbar above your surveys lets you:
- Search by title or description
- Filter by status with the pills — All, Drafts, Published (plus Paused and Closed when you have any). Each pill shows a live count.
- Sort — Newest, Oldest, Recently published, Most responses, or Name A–Z
- Switch views — a card grid, or a compact list on larger screens. Your choice is remembered.
Survey Cards
Each card shows the survey’s status, response count with a usage bar, and when it was created and published. Click anywhere on the card to open the survey. Hovering reveals quick actions — Edit, Results, and Copy link (for published surveys) — and the ⋮ menu holds everything else: details, analytics, AI analysis, invitations, moving, and deleting.
Surveys running low on responses get an amber “Action needed” treatment with a direct link to upgrade the limit.
Survey Statuses
Surveys have four possible statuses:
| Status | Description | Responses |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Not yet published | Not collecting |
| Published | Live and active | Collecting |
| Paused | Temporarily stopped | Not collecting |
| Closed | Permanently stopped | Not collecting |
Pausing a Survey
Temporarily stop collecting responses.
When to Pause
- Taking a break from collection
- Reviewing early responses
- Making changes to the survey
- Reaching a temporary goal
How to Pause
- Go to your survey’s Details page
- Click “Pause Survey” button
- Confirm the action
What Happens When Paused
- Status changes to “Paused”
- New respondents see “Survey Unavailable”
- Existing responses are preserved
- Share link still exists but inactive
- Can be resumed anytime
Resuming a Paused Survey
- Go to survey Details page
- Click “Resume Survey”
- Survey becomes active again
Closing a Survey
Permanently stop collecting responses.
When to Close
- Data collection is complete
- Survey period has ended
- Project is finished
- Survey is no longer relevant
How to Close
- Go to your survey’s Details page
- Click “Close Survey” button
- Confirm the action
What Happens When Closed
- Status changes to “Closed”
- No more responses can be collected
- All existing data is preserved
- Survey cannot be reopened
- You can still view and export results
Note: Closing a survey is permanent. If you might want to collect more responses, use Pause instead.
Editing a Published Survey
You can still make changes to published surveys.
What You Can Edit
- Survey title and description
- Welcome and thank you messages
- Question text and answer option wording
- Conditional logic and branching
- Design (theme, colors, logo)
What Is Locked
To protect the responses you’ve already collected, the structure of a published survey is locked:
- Questions that were live at publish time can’t be removed or have their type changed
- Locked question cards show a note explaining this in the builder
How to Edit
- Go to the survey Builder tab
- Make your changes
- Click Save in the builder header — published surveys save explicitly, so respondents never see half-finished edits
Warning: Saving updates the live survey immediately. Preview your changes before saving.

The Details page shows:

The new survey is created as a Draft with no responses. See Clone an Existing Survey for details.
