Survey Settings
Your survey’s appearance and behavior are configured in two builder tabs: Design (how it looks) and Settings (how it works). This page covers the Settings tab — see Design & Themes for display style, designs, colors, fonts, and logo.
The survey title is edited inline in the builder header, and the welcome/thank-you messages are edited directly on their cards in the Build tab.
The Settings Tab
Access
Control who can open and respond to your survey:

When password protection is on, set the password right below the option and share it separately with your intended respondents.
Responses
How responses are collected:
- Allow multiple responses — Off by default (one response per browser/device). Turn on to allow unlimited submissions.
- Collect respondent email — Requires a validated email address, stored with the response. Useful for follow-ups.
- Spam protection (CAPTCHA) — Adds a verification step to block automated submissions. Recommended for public surveys.
Workspace
Choose where the survey lives — your personal workspace or one of your teams. Team surveys are visible to teammates according to their roles.
Schedule
Set an expiration date and time. The survey closes automatically when it passes — no manual action needed.
Welcome & Thank-You Messages
These are edited on the Build tab, not in Settings:
- Click the Welcome card at the top of the content list to edit the welcome message and description. Respondents also see the question count and an estimated completion time.
- Click the Thank-you card at the bottom to edit the message shown after submission.
Messages are plain text — write them exactly as respondents should read them.
Response Limits
Your survey’s maximum response count is determined by the plan you purchase when publishing. The survey stops accepting responses when the limit is reached, and you can upgrade the limit at any time without interrupting the survey.
